Firefighters Put Out Cedar Falls Garage Fire

Cedar Falls Public Safety was dispatched to 2216 Sumac Avenue just before 1:00AM Saturday for a garage fire. Dispatch advised crews the garage was attached to the house. Fire Captain Shea McNamara said public safety officers on patrol arrived prior to the fire units, woke the resident and assisted the occupant out of the house.  When fire units arrived, the garage and breezeway were fully involved. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire, and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
