The State’s larger schools opened up Girls High School Tournament action last night with quarterfinal games in 4A and 5A.
In games involving Metro schools:
In 4A, Pella defeated Waterloo East 64-51.
In 5A, Cedar Falls downed Cedar Rapids Jefferson 62-44.
The Tigers will next play at Iowa City West in the Regional semifinals Saturday night.
