The state’s larger schools opened up boys high school basketball postseason play last night with 3A and 4A Substate Quarterfinal action.
In games involving area schools:
In 4A, Cedar Rapids Jefferson ended Waterloo West’s season 66-55.
And Marshalltown slipped past Waterloo East 69-65.
And in 3A:
Waverly-Shell Rock stopped Webster City, 49-34.
And Western Dubuque rolled past Independence, 66-32.
