Arrest Made in Waterloo Shooting

An arrest has been made in a shooting that took place in Waterloo last night.   Police were called to the 600 block of Dawson Street about 6:30PM where a man had been working on a car in the alleyway. The man was approached by a group of people and was later shot. The group then fled on foot. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, then transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City. The man’s name has not been released. Arrested was 16-year old Eric Hayes. He’s been charged with first degree robbery, going armed, willful injury causing serious injury and intimidation with a weapon.  He is being charged as an adult.
