Waterloo Police Warn About Catalytic Converter Thefts

Waterloo Police are warning the public about an increase in catalytic converter thefts. In a post on Facebook, the department says they’ve taken reports of thefts at Tyson and UnityPoint Hospital within the last few days, both at night and during the day.  Police say there were numerous catalytic converter thefts in the Cedar Valley last year.  Several suspects were eventually arrested in those cases and correspondingly, the number of thefts went down.  With this most recent number of theft reports, police are asking residents to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity in parking lots.
