Waterloo Schools announced Tuesday the new principal at Bunger Middle School. Zach O’Brien, the current Assistant Principal at Waterloo West High School, will take on the position, pending board approval, he’ll replace current principal Larry Martin. O’Brien has worked in the Waterloo School District since 2005. Before starting his position at West High in 2015, he worked as a Special Education Teacher, English Teacher, and Performance Based Diploma Academy Coordinator. O’Brien grew up in Fort Dodge and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Northern Iowa.
