New Addition for People’s Community Health Clinic Gets Funding Assist

People’s Community Health Clinic in Waterloo will soon build a $9.5 million, 20,000 square foot expansion of its facility, and will get an assist from CARES act funding of $549,164. The funding is being allocated by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Waterloo Community Development Board. A little more than $3 million has been raised for the project, and now PCHC is kicking off fundraising efforts for the remaining $6.5 million. The expansion, which includes an expanded pharmacy and drive-up window, a new entrance to separate well patients from COVID 19 outbreak patients, an expansion of the behavioral health services and the facility parking lot will be expanded. The new portion of the clinic will be built on the west side of the facility and is projected to be completed in summer 2023.
