Three Finalists Selected for Cedar Falls Public Safety Director Position

The City of Cedar Falls has announced the final trio of candidates for the Public Safety Director position following the retirement of former Director Jeff Olson in March.  The Public Safety Director Selection Committee, comprised of Cedar Falls Mayor Rob Green, Mayor Pro Tem Simon Harding, Administration Committee Chair Kelly Dunn, and City Administrator Ron Gaines as well as City Department Directors, selected current interim public safety director Craig Berte, former Cedar Rapids Police sergeant Lynn (Al) Fear Jr., and current interim police chief Captain Mark Howard to move forward following the application and questionnaire review period. Officials say updates will continue to be provided on the process as it moves forward.
