29th Cedar Valley Honor Flight Set For June 6th

Veterans Encouraged To Sign Up For Event

This year’s first Cedar Valley Honor Flight for 2023 has been set.  Plans are in motion for the 29th Honor Flight to be held on June 6th. Veterans from World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War are eligible to attend a flight to Washington DC and see many great sights and memorials.  Co-organizer Craig White says he’s excited to get veterans signed up for the next event.

Stops in Washington include visits to memorials and monuments dedicated to their service and sacrifice, and a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, including a moving presentation of the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown.  White says they hope to have another Honor Flight later this fall as well.

Applications for the June Honor Flight are available by going to cedarvalleyhonorflights.org, at the Amvets Post 31 in Evansdale, or contact White at 319-215-7104.  In addition, the 10th Annual Dinner and Show Fundraiser is set for April 15th at the Electric Park Ballroom in Waterloo with doors to open at 5:30PM.
