Two Metro girls basketball teams hosted Class 5A Regional Finals last night.
Cedar Falls was stopped by West Des Moines Valley’s smothering defense, 37-20. The Tigers finish their season with a 15-7 record.
Waterloo West got a basket from Sahara Williams with 8 seconds left as the Wahawks held off Waukee, 69-68, to advance to the State Tournament for the 4th straight season.
The Wahawks play Ankeny Centennial Monday morning at 11:45 in the Class 5A State Touranment Quarterfinals. Waterloo West is seeded 3rd, while Centennial is seeded 6th.
