The measure needed a 60% majority to pass.  The money will be used to add a STEM learning center and support career training programs for construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, automotive and diesel technology programs and build a new law enforcement training center. President Todd Holcomb says he’s very pleased with the vote results.

Holcomb says they’re more than ready to move forward with the project.

Holcomb says the approval from the voters in the 10-county area adds to what’s ahead for Hawkeye.

Black Hawk County voters approved the proposal, 86%-14%.
