Day 1 of girls State Golf Tournament begins today

The girls high school State Golf Tournament begins today. The meet takes place today and tomorrow and is being held at four locations.

The Class 4A tournament is in Ankeny. The 3A tournament takes place at Pheasant Ridge in Cedar Falls. The Class 2A tournament is in Marshalltown and the 1A tournament is in Boone. 

Cedar Falls is among the 10 schools contending for the Class 4A title.

In Class 3A, Waverly-Shell Rock’s Brenna Bodensteiner and Mady Mummelthei are in the individual competition.

In Class 2A, Sumner-Fredericksburg qualified for the team portion. Meanwhile, in the individual meet Denver’s Bailey Nuss, Dike-New Hartford’s Maryn Bixby and Morgan Krall of Jesup are comepting.

In Class 1A, Grundy Center and Nashua-Plainfield both qualified, while Don Bosco’s Madilyn Duhrkopf is competing individually.
