Two Tigers, one Wahawk qualifies for boys State Golf Meet

Berths to the high school boys State Golf Meet were up for grabs yesterday as District Meets took place across the state and Metro schools were involved in a District meet at Pheasant Ridge in Cedar Falls.

Cedar Rapids Xavier won the team title with a 291. Cedar Falls finished 4th with a 301, just two strokes away from qualifying for state.

Waterloo West placed 8th with a 316 and Waterloo East finished 14th.

Three metro golfers qualified for the State Meet individually. Cedar Falls’ Ethan Boyle and Drew Larimer, as well as Waterloo West’s Jay McCausland. 

The State Golf Meet takes place next week on Monday and Tuesday at Hyperion Field Club in Johnston.
