Vicki Chats: Musician Garin Melton
Welcome back to the show! Today’s guest is someone our listeners already know and love — and we’re excited to have him back in a whole new way. Garin Melton is joining us for his second visit, but this time he’s not just stopping by to chat — he’s here to share his music.
Originally from the small town of Cameron, Wisconsin, Garin now calls Waterloo home, where he balances life as a musician with managing Cabin Coffee — a place that somehow feels like a second home to half the community. At just 21 years old, Garin brings a sound that feels both grounded and beyond his years, blending storytelling, soul, and sincerity.
Influenced by artists like Tyler Childers, Noah Kahan, and Chris Stapleton — and deeply shaped by his family, especially his siblings — Garin’s music is honest, raw, and rooted in connection. Whether he’s playing open mic nights at Bootleggers Kitchen & Bar or local shows at Starbeck’s Smokehouse, he has a way of reminding you why live music still matters.
We’re excited to catch up, hear what’s changed since his last visit, and — most importantly — hear him play. Garin, welcome back to the show.
