Vicki Chats: TJ’s Christian Bookstore owner Joyce Barbatti
Joyce Barbatti is a Cedar Valley business owner, author, and community leader with a heart for faith, friendship, and service. A graduate of Waverly-Shell Rock High School, she holds degrees from Hawkeye Community College and the University of Northern Iowa.
Joyce is the owner of TJ’s Christian Bookstore in Cedar Falls, a welcoming space focused on encouragement, connection, and Christ-centered community. Her career includes leadership roles with the UNI-Dome, the Panther Scholarship Club, and the Girl Scouts of Northeast Iowa.
An entrepreneur at heart, Joyce has co-published Cedar Valley Athlete Magazine and the Dynamic Woman Newsletter, authored Henry the Far-Sighted Heron, and publishes the faith blog Sufficient Grace. She also serves on several local faith-based boards and committees.
A proud grandmother, Joyce enjoys reading, golfing, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her furry companions — Ellie the Goldendoodle and Echo the rescue kitty.
