Vicki Chats: Megan Doorenbos — Bailing Out Benji volunteer
Today’s guest—Megan Doorenbos—is a Cedar Falls High School graduate (2016), University of Northern Iowa graduate (2020) Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, with a Minor in Marketing. She is an advocate, volunteer, and voice for dogs who don’t have one yet. Megan is actively involved with Bailing Out Benji, a national nonprofit dedicated to exposing the cruelty of puppy mills and shutting down the puppy mill–to–pet store pipeline. She doesn’t just repost—she shows up. From peaceful protests outside pet stores and breeding operations to educating people online about responsible pet ownership, Megan is deeply committed to changing how we think about where our pets come from. She’s especially active with the Front Range Bailing Out Benji volunteer group across Colorado and Iowa, helping build awareness at the local level where it matters most. We’re diving into advocacy, education, and how everyday people can make a real difference.
