Aplington-Parkersburg hires Zach Pfantz as new head football coach
An storied area Iowa high school football program has a new head coach.
Aplington-Parkersburg high school has announced the hiring of Zach Pfantz as its new head football coach on X.
Pfantz has served as head coach at Bondurant-Farrar, Ottumwa and Akron-Westfield, with stops at Central College and Coe College in a number of different roles including defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Central for several seasons.
This past fall Pfantz was part of the coaching staff at Waukee Northwest.
Last year, A-P went 3-5 overall, the third straight losing season for the program. Aplington-Parkersburg last finished above .500 when they went 8-2 in 2022.
