Trent Hunter
Trent Hunter is a proud veteran of the Iowa Army and Air National Guard, serving his state and nation for over two decades. He began his military career with the Iowa Army National Guard from 1996 to 2004 as a member of Headquarters Company, 133rd Infantry, before continuing his service with the Iowa Air National Guard from 2009 to 2025 in the 133rd Test Squadron, where he achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant.
Throughout his military career, Trent completed extensive training across multiple disciplines, including mechanical and logistical operations through Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training as a Light Wheeled Mechanic at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and as an Automated Logistical Specialist (92A) at Fort Lee, Virginia. He also earned his Heavy Equipment Recovery (H8) certification at Camp Ripley, Minnesota. In the Air Force, he trained in Radio Frequency Transmission Systems at Keesler Air Force Base and served on Iowa’s Joint Incident Site Communications Capability team, supporting critical communications during emergency response operations.
His service includes key operational experiences such as supporting the Iowa Flood response in 1999, contributing to counterdrug operations in partnership with the Waterloo Army Aviation Support Facility, and deploying in support of Operation Inherent Resolve from 2017 to 2018.
Beyond his military service, Trent is a graduate of Upper Iowa University with a degree in Marketing. He serves as a Training Coordinator at Hawkeye Community College and is the co-owner of TnK Health and Nutrition. He is a Past President of the Exchange Club of Waterloo, helped launch the Veterans Way Banner Program, and currently serves as President-elect for the Lakes & Prairies District of the National Exchange Club. He also serves on the boards of The Salvation Army and Americans for Independent Living. Whether he’s helping veterans find employment, supporting individuals reentering the workforce, or leading community initiatives, Trent is driven by one simple idea: helping people move forward.
