Vicki Chats with Jacob Pauli and Michael Rogers

Jacob Pauli

For more than two decades, Jacob Pauli has been helping shape the sound of the Cedar Valley music scene. Originally from central Illinois, Jacob came to the University of Northern Iowa, fell in love with the area, and never left. Over the past 25 years, he’s performed in local bands, built relationships throughout the music community, and helped create experiences that bring people together through live music. Today, he’s one of the founders of the Lost Woods Music Festival, a nonprofit event that blends music, art, nature, and community into something truly unforgettable. Jacob joins us today to talk about the journey, the vision, and why thousands of people are heading into the woods this September.

Michael Rogers

If you’ve spent time in the Cedar Valley music scene, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Michael Rogers. A Cedar Falls native, Michael is a talented multi-instrumentalist, entrepreneur, and community builder who has spent years supporting local music and creative arts. As a founder of the Lost Woods Music Festival, he’s helping transform a simple idea into one of Iowa’s most unique nonprofit arts experiences. What began as a passion for music has grown into a celebration of connection, creativity, and community. Today, Michael joins us to share the story behind Lost Woods and what’s in store for this year’s festival.
