Johnny has lived a musical life that most artists only dream about. Originally from sunny San Diego, California, he spent more than a decade making waves in the hip-hop world, performing over 250 shows at legendary venues like the Whiskey a Go Go, the House of Blues Anaheim, the Knitting Factory, and The Key Club. His music reached millions, with his hit single “Fly Away” earning more than 1.4 million Spotify streams.
Then came an unexpected twist.
After moving to Iowa in 2020, Johnny fell in love with country music, the Midwest way of life, and the storytelling tradition that makes country so relatable. Inspired by artists like Morgan Wallen and Jelly Roll, he reinvented himself, trading beats for boots and creating songs filled with honesty, heart, and real-life experiences. His breakout country single, “Like I Bleed,” introduced fans to an artist unafraid to tell the truth through his music.
Today, Johnny Kass continues to build a loyal following with songs that blend country soul with a modern edge, proving that authenticity never goes out of style.
