Cedar Falls Municipal Candidates Discuss Issues

Four candidates for Cedar Falls mayor and council took part in a forum hosted by the Cedar Falls Rotary at their weekly meeting on Tuesday. Several of the questions posed to council candidates Hannah Crisman, Aaron Hawbaker, and Donna Bash, and mayoral candidate Walter Burtis focused on goal setting, the candidates’ leadership style, and the issue of parking in downtown Cedar Falls. Following is how each of the candidates answered on the parking issue.  First, at large candidate Crisman.

Next, 4th ward candidate Hawbaker.

Bash, who is also running for the at large seat, was the only one of the four not in favor of a parking garage in Cedar Falls.

Burtis says the parking issue has to be made a priority.

Next week, the Cedar Falls Rotarians will have a second candidate forum for the other four candidates on this fall’s election slate.
