Several Injured in Crash South of Waterloo

Several people were injured Saturday afternoon when three vehicles collided along Highway 218. The crash happened around 2:30pm Saturday at the intersection of Highway 218 and Orange Road. The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office says a van was stopped in traffic along the highway waiting to make a left turn onto Orange Road.  A second van was behind the first one waiting for them to turn. Deputies say a pickup then rear ended one van, slamming it into the other. Four people in the sandwiched van were injured and taken to MercyOne Waterloo. Authorities say two were treated and released while two others suffered serious injuries. Others hurt in the other two vehicles suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
