Another Cedar Falls resident plans to run for the Cedar Falls’ Ward 4 city council seat this fall. Aaron Hawbaker plans to kick off his campaign next Monday night at the Octopus on College Hill. Hawbaker, a University of Northern Iowa graduate, says that he wants to continue development on College Hill and Seerley Park. He also supports strong neighborhoods and collaborative partnerships between the city and UNI. Hawbaker joins Gabe Groothuis as the only candidates in the 4th Ward race. Current councilman Simon Harding said in March he wasn’t running for re-election.
