Waterloo East High School has hired Mike Sailor as its new varsity boys basketball coach.
Sailor is a 1997 East graduate and will take over pending school board approval.
At East Sailor played football, basketball and baseball before attending Iowa Central Community College where he played football.
He’s coached basketball at Carver Middle School, the AAU circuit as well as being an assistant coach for the East football team.
Sailor replaces Brent Carmichael, who vacated the position in the off-season after three seasons. Under Carmichael, the Trojans went 24-38.
