Black Hawk County now has a new Public Health Director. Kaitlin Emrich has been announced as the county’s new Public Health Director. Emrich has served as the interim director since Nafissa Cisse Egbuonye left the position last year. Emrich served as the Lead Public Information Officer during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and has also served in health roles in Linn County. The County’s Board of Health approved Emrich in a 5-0 vote Monday morning. She will begin the position on October 9.
