Black Hawk Sheriff Thompson Not Running For A Fifth Term
Will Finish in 2024 with 30+ Years of Service

Black Hawk County Sheriff Tony Thompson announced Wednesday that he will not be seeking a fifth term in 2024. Sheriff Thompson says he’s stepping away in order to focus more of his time with his family.
He says it’s time to hand off to the next Black Hawk County Sheriff.
He says there’s been numerous accomplishments that have been made by the Sheriff’s Office over the years.
Thompson says he’s making the announcement ahead of time in order to allow potential candidates to begin campaigning for the position.
