HCC Receives Federal Grant for Trucking Program

$200K Grant Helps Trucking With The Troops

Hawkeye Community College recently received a $200,000 grant from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to support the college’s Trucking with the Troops program.  Hawkeye’s Trucking with the Troops program is designed to assist current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their spouses and children earning a CDL and entering the transportation industry, while building a skilled workforce to meet the driver shortage. This is the 8th consecutive year Hawkeye has received funding for Trucking with the Troops. Since 2016, the college has received a total of over $830,000, which has helped 153 veterans and their families receive training and find employment.
