The Waterloo Rotary Club has awarded Waterloo Columbus Catholic’s Mason Knipp this year’s Glenn “Doc” Miller Metro football MVP.
Since 1946 the Waterloo Rotary Club has honored a Waterloo high school athlete with the award.
Knipp, a senior offensive and defensive lineman, helped the Sailors reach the Class 1A state semifinals. He’s a multiple time All-State and All-District player.
This season he led Columbus in tackles, sacks (11) and tackles for loss (36).
Other nominees were Waterloo West’s Andrew Kline, Waterloo East’s Ahdan Mohammed and Waterloo Christian’s Kambridge Wainscott.
Congrats to Mason K. on his illustrious football career for the Sailors. Multiple all-state, 4x all district, district MVP’s, and now the Glenn “Doc” Miller award. One of the best to ever lace them up!
Historic season led by a great group of seniors!
