Open House Held at HCC for Newly-Renovated Grundy Hall

An open house was held Thursday at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo after completion of extensive renovations at Grundy Hall.  The building houses a state-of-the art center for healthcare education, including nursing, dental assisting, emergency medical services and respiratory care. Cost of the project was $21 million and took two years to complete.  Hawkeye President Dr. Todd Holcomb says the twenty medical programs at the college are truly enhanced with this renovation.

Holcomb says this expansion allows for the capacity to serve over 3,300 students in the various medical fields.

The Grundy Hall renovation was the final project funded by a bond referendum passed by voters in 2015. Holcomb says new projects are on the horizon, after the latest bond referendum that overwhelmingly passed in March 2023.
