Several neighborhoods in the City of Waterloo will be taking part in the National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 1. The designation to bring neighbors together for block parties started in the mid-1980s, and is traditionally held on the first Tuesday in August each year. The community celebrations are often attended by city officials and law enforcement to raise awareness about support services for residents. Tyson Foods will donate 100 pounds of product for recognized neighborhood associations to serve at each neighborhood celebration.
