Waterloo Police Identify Human Remains Found Earlier This Week

Human skeletal remains that were found on Monday in Waterloo have been identified as belonging to a man who was reported missing in July 2021. Waterloo Police were called to the Wastewater Treatment Plant on Monday regarding human remains that were found. The remains were sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s office for identification and cause of death. Police have identified those remains as those of 52-year-old Darrin Lenton, who was reported missing in July 2021. The Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting further testing, but no foul play is suspected. The cause of death has not been released as yet.
