Arrest Made After Lockdown At East Buchanan School

East Buchanan Community School in Winthrop was placed under a lockdown on Thursday morning.  According to School Superintendent Dan Fox, the district received a threat against the administration around 9:45 AM,  which caused a safety concern. District officials collaborated with law enforcement and decided to go under a lockdown for the safety of the students and staff. The lockdown was lifted around 10:30 AM. An arrest has been made in connection with the threat. 28-year old James Michael Toms of Independence was arrested at his home and he’s been charged with one count of harassment.
